He was born on July 27, 1990 in Coldwater, Michigan.
Justin was very fond of video games and owned his own tabletop gaming business, Local Legends, Fremont, Indiana. He also very much enjoyed helping his gaming community build decks or playing a game or two. Justin always wanted to create a sense of belonging and community for all gamers alike. His passion for all things gaming, showed through his charismatic smile and big heart.
He also enjoyed playing a round of golf, creating his own choreographed fireworks shows, spending time with close friends and a good cup of coffee.
Survivors include his wife, Corita Hockenberry of Fremont, Indiana, mother, Pamela Hockenberry of Coldwater, Michigan, father, John Butler of Coldwater, Michigan, brother, Joseph Tenney of Reading, Michigan, grandmother, Susan Colbart of Reading, Michigan, mother-in-law, Bonnie Lindsey of Sturgis, Michigan, father-in-law, Larry (Sally) Lindsey of Bronson, Michigan, brother-in-law, Chad (Sara) Lindsey of Three Rivers, Michigan, sister-in-law, Lisa (Cesar) Medina of Bronson, Michigan, and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by grandfather, Charles Hockenberry and beloved friend, Joshua Forbes (Forbeso).
A Celebration of Life for Justin Hockenberry will be held at 12 pm Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Bethel Gilead Church, 876 Block Road, Bronson, Michigan. Jay Chambers will officiate the service. The family would also like to allow time for any family or friends to share favorite memories of Justin. A luncheon will follow the services.
A receiving of friends and family will be held prior to the Celebration of Life from 11 am until 12 pm Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Bethel Gilead Church, 876 Block Road, Bronson, Michigan, 49028.
Memorial donations in his memory may be directed in care of the family.
