Michael J. Mavrakis passed away peacefully on February 9, 2024 at the age of 93. Mike was born in Sitia, Greece. He came to America in 1948 and attended Tufts University School of Engineering before serving for 2 years in the Korean war. Mike earned his civil engineering degree in 1956 after which he enjoyed a 30 year career with the FAA.
Mike loved being with his family and was a committed member of Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in San Jose, CA. Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia, and his eldest son, John. He is survived by his two sons, Jim and Tony, daughter-in-law, Dana along with his 4 grandchildren, Michael, Emily, Leslie and Allison plus grandson-in-law, Geoff, and great-grandson, Rowan.
