Merda Heidi Pioquinto Martinez

Merda was born on March 22, 1969 to Esmeraldo Danao Pioquinto and Florecita De Vera Pioquinto in Malasiqui, Pangasinan, Philippines. She was the oldest out of 3 daughters, including Emilyn and Amarie. After graduating from Agno Valley College, she then attended Virgen Milagrosa University where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. After graduation, she met the love of her life, Ranulfo. The two were married on January 12, 1991. They would embark their journey together to the United States where they started and raised their family.

Known for her caring and calm personality and amazing cooking skills, Merda will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Merda was known to make sure everyone was taken care of. She made sure you ate and also pack leftovers to take home. Merda never forgot to make her family feel special, especially on their birthdays. She would make sure her kids or husband's favorite foods were made that day. Merda was also known to be a confidante amongst her friends and family. She was the one people would go to vent and receive advice. Merda enjoyed watching her Korean dramas, Filipino teleseyres, HGTV, and crime investigation shows on her free time. She loved spending time with her friends and playing BINGO with her cousins.

Merda’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by her husband, Ranulfo Martinez, her kids April, Jon, and Rjae Martinez, her sister Emilyn Lamsen, and her grandpup Melo.

Merda is preceded in death by her parents Esmeraldo Danao Pioquinto and Florecita De Vera Pioquinto and her sister, Amarie Gagaza.

Merda’s Novena Prayer began November 22, 2023 and she will be cremated on December 21, 2023. Her remains will be placed at Lima Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary and Cedar Lawn Cemetery. A funeral service will take place at St. John’s the Baptist Church in Milpitas, California. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow.

A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St John The Baptist, 279 S Main St, Milpitas, CA 95035. A witness cremation will occur Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, 48800 Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont, CA 94539.
