Remembering her with love are her treasured children Jessica and Scott Turner; stepchildren, Cassidy Humphrey, Shelby Stockdale and Mark and Daryl Turner; her mother and step-dad, Wanda and Clyde Meador; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wayne and Rosemarie Thomas; her adopted dad and his wife Earl and Wanda Robertson; her natural father Jerry Ladyman; her sister, Melissa Wright, nephew Jacob Wright, her grandmother, Wilma Meador, extended family members and numerous friends and previous co-workers.
Born in Wichita Falls, Texas on September 19, 1967, Wendy graduated high school in Las Cruces, NM in 1985; received a Bachelor’s degree from Strayer University in 2004, and served as a cryptological technician in the US Navy from October 1987 to September 1995. She was employed as a government contractor prior to becoming a DOJ civil service employee for the FBI at Quantico. After working and traveling extensively in a job she dearly loved, Wendy’s illness resulted in her medical retirement in September 2011.
Wendy loved life, her family, her job, her travels, her co-workers and her many friends. She found so much pleasure in her time at home with her puppies Sadie, Lacey, and Merlin. She’ll be remembered and sorely missed by a world-wide “family” all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Arrangements and cremation service are provided by Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service. A private inurnment will be held at Quantico National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012, from 2 to 6 p.m., at Aquia Harbour Inn, 1417 Washington Dr. Stafford, VA. 22554.
