Richard Clement Mahoney

Richard “Dick” Clement Mahoney, 83 of Fredericksburg, VA formerly of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, May 30, 2024, after a long illness. He was predeceased by his wife of 23 years, Phyllis Marie Melton, formerly of Burnsville, NC. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Ray Pursel of Fredericksburg, VA, three granddaughters, Erin, Laura, and Catherine, his niece Genie Pyne of Miami, FL, and his lifelong best friends, Lee & Kathy Oswald of The Villages, FL. A lifelong resident of South Florida, Dick served in the United States Marine Corps and retired from Eastern Airlines with over 30 years of service based out of Miami. After retiring and moving to Port St. Lucie, he remained active in his community and enjoyed caring for an extensive collection of orchids with his wife, Phyllis. He was an amazing father and grandfather and will be deeply missed. A graveside service will be held in Caballero Rivero Southern Cemetery in North Miami, FL on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:00 am.
