Mary Alice Jacobs

Mary Alice Jacobs, age 36, of Fredericksburg, Virginia passed from this life to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Mary Washington Hospital. She was born on May 18, 1987, in Annapolis, Maryland, and was the daughter of John David and Paula Anne Jacobs (Womble). Mary Alice was a homeschool student until college. She obtained her nursing degree from Germana Community College on May 8, 2013. Skilled nursing and long-term care were her focus throughout her 10 ½ year career. She began as a floor nurse, and four years later, became a unit manager. Her last years in nursing consisted of a non-bedside role as a Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator. In this role, Mary Alice performed comprehensive assessments of patients’ health statuses to include their current conditions, care needs, and progress while at the facility. Mary Alice loved adventure and found it through many different activities. She read books, watched movies, played board and video games, tried new recipe and dining experiences, and loved connecting with friends online. She really loved going to the beach, visiting new places, and on vacation, staying with her extended family in Ohio. Twice a month, she also looked forward to spending the weekend with her immediate family. Mary Alice is survived and greatly loved by her parents, John David, and Paula Anne Jacobs (Womble); brothers, John-Marc and Drew; sisters, Krista and Jaina. The family held a private graveside service.
