She was born on February 8, 1952, in Okinawa, Japan the daughter of the late Shoumatsu and Yoshiko Yamauchi.
She is survived by her loving husband, William M. Santina; four daughters, Amy T. Ortega (Joseph) of Fredericksburg, VA, Eva F. Aleshire (Timothy) of Lusby, MD, Anna D. Santina (Jason) of Fredericksburg, VA, Mia M. Fravel (Jacob) of Fredericksburg, VA; three brothers, Shoshin, Shosei, Kazuo; three sisters, Akemi, Kimiko and Yaeko. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren.
Growing up, Keiko was a part of a big family consisting of 4 brothers and 3 sisters. As she got older, family time continued to be a large part of her life. She devoted her time to being a stay at home mom and was known for being a selfless caregiver; always caring for her own daughters, her grandchildren and other children known by the family. She loved being at as many of the family functions as possible including sporting events, family cookouts, birthdays, weddings, graduations and more. She loved her garden and always had a “green thumb” when tending to it. Keiko was also very well known for her cooking. Her fried rice and egg rolls were the best in town. Her love language was food and she loved to feed others.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg with Pastor Brian Harrell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 12:30pm at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.
