Elizabeth Lacy Wiseman, age 80 of Stafford, Virginia passed away at her residence on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. She was born in Richmond, Virginia the second daughter of the late William Sterling Lacy and Jane King Lacy.
Beth was a graduate of the University of Mary Washington. In life, she shared wisdom and passions with many. She was an advocate for history, the arts and nature. She served as a Docent for the Gari Melchers Home and Studio in Fredericksburg and was a promoter of Chatham Manor, a Civil War ancestral home, now a Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ryland “Bud” Wiseman; two sons, David Wiseman of Reston, Virginia; Matthew Wiseman of Fredericksburg, Virginia; a daughter Sarah Wiseman Edgar of Tampa, Florida; two sisters, Jane Moran and Anne Ellett both of Richmond, Virginia; and four grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her beloved friend and sister Judith Lacy Brannon of Florida.
The family will hold a private graveside service at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to the Presbyterian Children’s Home of the Highlands, Wytheville, Virginia.
