Dolores A. Apanewicz

Dolores A. Apanewicz, age 73, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024 at her son’s home in Fredericksburg, VA. She was born on July 18, 1950 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph James and Dolores E. (Ullrich) Tobin. Dolores graduated from Little Flower High School and married Gerard Apanewicz at the age of 19. Devoted to her family, she chose to be a stay-at-home mother until her children were in high school. She then embarked on a fulfilling career, working at Authors Catering and Burgoyne for years until discovering her true passion as an office manager at Completed Finishing, where she dedicated herself until her retirement at the age of 73. Beyond her professional life, she was known for her overwhelming generosity, always going above and beyond to help those in need. She cherished spending time with family and friends, often hosting cookouts and parties where she displayed her culinary talents, especially renowned for her delicious meatballs. Her love for pasta was only rivaled by her love for those around her, as she would go above and beyond to help anyone in need. In her moments of quiet, she found solace in the pages of countless books, her love for reading a constant companion throughout her life. Predeceased by her parents; her husband Gerard Walter Apanewicz and three siblings: Joseph Tobin, Brian Tobin and Theresa Breary. Survivors include two children: Dori Apanewicz (Lucas Ramos) and Gary Apanewicz (Laura); two siblings: Linda Ruppert (Fred) and John Tobin; three grandchildren: Michael, Brandon and Aaron Friend; and her furbabies: Sasha, Callie, Barry, Clot and Sirius. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116 at 10:30 AM with a viewing from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Forest Hills/Shalom Memorial Park, 25 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania 19006.
