Shawn King, we spent a lot of time together growing up, I wish we could of known each other as adults.  These pictures do bring back a lot of great memories. You will be greatly missed by all your family and friends. With lots of love, your cousin Laura.

Lit a candle in memory of Shawn Michael King

Shawn was my big brother he may not have known that I looked up to him but I did.  Some of my favorite  memories were at sisters Creek fishing and sliding down the sand dunes with Shawn and Katie, playing flag football with him. Watching him dance, seeing the love in his eyes for his boys.  Shawn chasing us with spiders,lol. I hope that he knows I will forever love him.

I met York in 1995 I was 15 he was 20. That summer i started working at the waffle house. He showed me how to cook and wait tables. We had some great times 21 years worth of great memories. From day 1 and all through the years if you saw me you saw York we were everywhere and did everything together. I never called him Shawn to me he's York I gave him that name the day I meet him.  I even call his oldest boy little York and my buddy DC Mike. Great kids I love you boys and I loved your dad. Hes was more then a great friend he was my brother and always will be. I'll rember York for the love that he had for his family his kids he had a big heart. Kind giving always there when you needed him. I'll charish the short 21 years we had together my brother. But life will not be easy for me your faimy kids and friends moving foward. I really hope you know that we all loved you buddy. And always will.  This isn't goodbye its a till I see you again my brother. Rest easy  love ya York

shawn i have so many memories of you,you and your family came into my life at a time when i had no one.you were like a brother to me ,we would run in to each other from time to time and i would give you rides and i would tell you how much God loves you and how much i loved you ..i remember when i locked you in the commissary at waffle house for an hour,you were yelling that you was gonna get me back and i was cooking and couldn't get off the grill to let you out.you never did get me back,we ran second shift back in the day,we were a team you were the best cook at waffle house,you had amazing talents,you were in my wedding with ashley.oh how i could turn back to those days. when GOD made you shawn he threw away the mold,you will be greatly missed,your family is in my prayers and in GOD'S LOVING AND HEALING HANDS.   sandy stewart

Shawn, I don't really know if you had any idea how many peoples life you touched. Or how much you will be missed. Knowing you and working with you has been one of the wonderful things in my life . I have so many memories of you. You were there for me when I was going through rough times I appreciated you and I  loved you I will always hold you dear to my heart. You made work fun always making us laugh and playing jokes on Devin and each other. I worried about you and I hoped I'd never have to be writing this. Most of us knew the struggles you went through over the years. Yet this struggle was the one that was to big, to over powering to overcome,  I believe you wanted to overcome it, I honestly don't understand . I believe however that it's the evil of this world that took you away from us. I can't say goodbye to, you, I'm not ready to do that, Your struggle is over now, you have no demons to fight, you can rest peacefully now. I love you Shawn and you will be missed more than you could have ever imagined. I will always hold your friendship dear to my heart. Till I see you again my friend.

I am Shawn's mom Edith King,Shawn I will always ,eternally   forever love you. There is not enough room in my heart to love you more.I remember the day you where born like yesterday you are part of my soul my life.I wasn't ready to be a mom than but, you changed that when I seen you and they put you in my arms.I will always miss you.

I started working at waffle house in 2004 and Shawn was always there to help me . We grew into friends and he became like a big brother to me. He always knew how to make you laugh and smile. His family will be in my prayers and he will be missed greatly.

Shawn, gosh, you are my big brother. We have had so many memories together. You used to take me on your newspaper routes and let me ride in the wagon. I used to watch you play football in the field around the corner from our house and wish that I was old enough to play. You would play whether there was no snow or 3 feet of snow. You danced with me on my wedding day and told me how proud you were of me and how I had chosen a wonderful man to marry. We would pull pranks on mom together and wait around the corner in anticipation of her reaction. I can continue on and on. You will be so dearly missed! I love you Shawn and I hope you can truly be happy now! Gosh how you were loved!
