Age 86, passed away early evening Thursday, November 22 at Vitas (Hospice) in The Drake Center. Sam was born July 10, 1932 to Clarence and Gladys (Basford) Burnett. As a Private in the United States Air Force he faithfully served his Country during the Korean War, stationed in Panama. Sam worked Hot Strip Maintenance at Armco Steel (now AK Steel) for 30+ years happily retiring at the end of May, 1990. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, reading, and watching sports; especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and New England Patriots, and spending time with his family.
Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Burnett (Leiby), his parents, his brother, three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law. He is survived by his children Amy Kasuga and Andy Burnett. And his grandson Sam Kasuga. Sam is also survived by his sister-in-law Jayne Krohn (Al) and numerous nieces and nephews.
