Jim served in the United States Army, and worked as an Equipment Specialist at DSCC until his retirement. He liked to tinker with electronics and all things mechanical, and he could be heard operating a HAM radio with his call sign KD8ZV. James loved fishing, hunting, and the UK Wildcats.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Barbara, his brother Thomas Sloan, and his sister Diana Sloan-Mock, and mother in law Frances Meade.
Jim is survived by his wife Tina Sloan; his daughter Trisha (Chris) Fares; his sister Gaye Gourley; his granddaughters Brittany Baker, Baylie (Matthew) Greene, and Alyssa Fares; his father-in-law Charles Meade; his brother-in-laws Fred (Sharon) Meade, Kenny Meade, Dennis (Celeste) Meade, and David (Beth) Meade; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Jim will take place on Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second Street, Franklin, OH 45005. A graveside service will take place on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, 4915 Harrodsburg Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356.
