James Richard Pennington

James Richard Pennington, age 79, of Franklin, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 14th, 2021. He was born in Lytle, Ohio, on August 21, 1941 to the late William and Ellen (Hendricks) Pennington.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Frank “Sonny” Pennington; brothers-in-law, Herschel Walters, Reverend Tom Walters, Ralph Younker, Maynard Stamper, and Larry Blake; and sister-in-law, Lois Ann Walters.

James is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Wilma Sue Pennington; daughter, Beth Ann Heizer; son, James Curtis Pennington; grandchildren, very special grandson Sean Adam Heizer of Columbus, Ohio, Jordan Lynn Pennington, Michael Jaymes Curtis Pennington, a very special granddaughter Summer Nicole Heizer; great-granddaughter Adilynn Rae Elizabeth Pennington; sisters, Martha Younker, Edna (Richard) Markland, Louise (Cecil) Smith, Wilma (Joe) Wallace, Ilene Stamper, Cathy Blake; brother, Ronnie (Carol) Pennington; Brother-in-laws, Wallace “Butch” Walters, Gary (Shellie) Walters; Sisters-in-law, Annah Walters, Elsie Walters; a special niece and hairdresser Susan Lema; as well as many other nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Woodhill Cemetery 6228 Hamilton-Middletown Road, Franklin, Ohio 45005, on Wednesday, January 20th, 2021 at 1:00pm. If you plan on attending please stay in your car. A luncheon will follow at The Carlisle Lion’s Club 465 Park Drive, Carlisle, Ohio 45005. Please wear masks and practice social distancing.
