Gerald David Metcalf

Gerald David Metcalf (Dave), age 82, of Franklin, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on September 15th, 2022. Dave was born in Miamisburg, Ohio on April 7th, 1940 to the late James and Ethel Metcalf. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first baby girl, Marilyn Mischelle Metcalf; brothers Gene, Curt, and Red Metcalf; and great-granddaughter, Abigail Garner.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sondra (Crank) Metcalf (Kitten); sisters Mae, Marietta, Pat, Diane; children Tonya (David), Tracy (Randy), Stefenie (Cole); step-children George (Gina), Brenda (Mark), Lori (Steve), Richie (Carolyn); grandchildren Cody, Latisha, Willie, Karen, Tammy, Lyndsey, Sharon, Kenny, Josh, TJ, Tesa, Gator, Mandy, Syra, Cassidy, Bryson; great-grandchildren Colton, MaKenna, Stella, Willa, Zoe, Aaron, Andre, Caleb, Josh, Jayden, Shelbee, Kameron, Kentyn, Kynna, Sky, Elaina, James, Jacob, Jordan, Eric, Willow; and many other relatives and friends.

Dave was a retiree from the City of Franklin. He was a lover of horses, Westerns, and cooking for his family. He especially loved cooking Thanksgiving dinner. He enjoyed taking his great-grandson, whom he helped raise, to watch the trains. He was always lending a helping hand and didn’t want anyone to go without.

He will be greatly missed by all, but we take comfort in knowing he’s in the presence of the Lord, no longer in pain, with perfect hearing!
