Age 64, of Franklin, Ohio passed away on Monday August 22nd, 2022, at Ohio’s Hospice in Dayton. David was born on October 3, 1957, to Nancy and Harry Parker, and graduated from Franklin High School in 1976. He went on to receive his teaching degree from the University of Cincinnati, BGSU, and Ohio State, and spent his entire teaching career at Carlisle High School as a mathematics, money management, and marketing education. In addition to teaching, he played an active role in Carlisle sports as a track and football coach, and later as a football announcer and a time/score keeper for men’s and women’s basketball and wrestling. He loved teaching the DECA classes, at one point serving as an Ohio DECA state officer and traveling to state and national competitions with his students. When he wasn’t teaching, he spent his time hot air ballooning, riding his Harley, attending car shows with his Prowler, attending MLB All Star games, operating the mechanical bull at The Yellow Rose, and traveling the country with his daughter. When he retired from teaching in 2014, he took a job working for Anderson Funeral Homes. David was preceded in death by his father Harry Parker and his niece Missy Harman. He is survived by his daughter Lauren Parker and fiancée Tyler Ward of Columbus, mother Nancy (Landes) Parker, brothers Mike Parker and wife Kim of Franklin and Doug Parker and wife Lidiana of Cincinnati, nephew Josh and wife Janet (kids Devyn, Madelyn, and Hudson) and niece Katie and Payton (kids Waylon and Caroline. Visitation will be Sunday August 28, 2022 from 4-7pm at Anderson Funeral Home 1357 E. 2nd St. Franklin, OH 45005. Funeral services will be held 10am Monday with Pastor Danny Griffith officiating.
