Arthur J. Root

Arthur J. Root, age 87, of Franklin, Ohio, died Sunday, January 31, 2016. He was born in Greenville, Ohio on December 20, 1928, to the late Jess and Iva (Krieder) Root. Arthur served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of First Christian Church in Franklin. He was employed with Armco/AK Steel for 20 years and retired in 1976. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his great grandson, Travis and 4 siblings. Arthur is survived by his wife of 58 years Barbara Root; two sons, Jeff (Sandra) Root, Jim (Holly) Root; daughter, Judy (Willie) Brown; seven granddaughters, Lindsey, Mallory, Stephanie, Tina, Rhonda, Ashley, Crystal; three grandsons, Matthew, Kyle, Jason; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; two sisters, Bonnie, Ouida; brother, James; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Anderson Funeral Homes, 1357 East Second Street Franklin, Ohio with Pastor Jamie Renner officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park with military honors.
