Your going to be miss words can't explain how much your meant in my family and my life,I'm so greatful that I was able to spend a lot of time with you in NY and Florida we had so many great time togather I so glad that I was able to be part of your life in good and hard times, you was very special to me and my love ones. What I love most of you was your Laughter and your sincerity I'm going to miss you very much you was the best. I know your in good arms. 
May God give the Lance family peace and love at this time.

A true blessing it was to get to know and share my time with you.  I've never had a grandpa so for me to be called grandson by you was very special and important to me. To Pastor Laura and Vinny.  I am so sorry for your lose.  I remember the time I spent on Leaf Ave. at your house.  Mr. Lance always had a kind and sweet spirit.  He never said a word when he come home and find a house full of Laura's friends. I remember him as a family man and a hard worker. I know the pain of losing a father.  Know that he is in a better place with the Lord.  Our memories did not pass with him.  He lives on in your heart forever.  Live the memories until you meet again. Friends forever.  Shelia & Family.

Daddy
I first met Daddy through telephone conversations - this was when I first moved back to Colorado Springs when we started the ministry.  Daddy would call Pastor every Sunday morning and they would talk and she would pray with him so that was how I first began to know him.  So when he moved here and of course meeting him in person, we hit it off again!  Daddy was a loving and proud man and he was also quite funny. He would say some things and I would be like Daddy, you did not say that and his eyes would twinkle with a smile. Even as I write this I smile with laughter just thinking on the moments we shared.  One of his favorite lines was if one asked him how he was feeling, he would reply “with my hands” and he would laugh at himself on that one. When Daddy was able to get around we would go out to lunch after his doctors’ appointments – he loved going out to eat; his favorites were Red Lobster for their shrimp, Denny’s –BLT and a Meatball sub with extra sauce from Subway. Often we would just sit and talk about God, life, family and of course movies.  Believe me, Daddy knew all of his movies; but he and I shared in common; westerns, old classics, war movies and of course “Walker Texas Ranger.” I had outgrown Walker, but I watched with him because it made him happy.  We were watching the “Magnificent Seven” on last Sunday and he reminded me that this movie had won an Oscar.  My life was enriched because I had the honor of knowing Vincent Leroy Lance Senior.  He called me and loved me as his daughter and I called and loved him as Daddy – we adopted one another as Our Father in heaven adopted us and I will forever remember him - his smile, his laughter, his humor, his stubbornness at times and of course his love. Daddy loved Psalm 23 and so I say to you Daddy: “The Lord is your shepherd, you shall not want. He makes you to lie down in green pastures; He leads you beside the still waters, He restores your soul; He leads you in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake”…And Daddy would say read that part again…and I would read it again and again...I will miss you Daddy, I do even now, but the memories will forever live in my heart.   It is well with his soul.

As time passes by I still am in shock and a slight disbelief that he's actually gone on to the Heavens. It still seems as if I can just give him a call and talk to him and gain wisdom from his lifetime like usual and get a few laughs. I'm glad that I was able to know grandpa in his latter days, he gave me many laughs and taught me a few morals in life. I will miss him greatly..

I know that you are with the Lord, and celebrating with family and friends who went before you. I have many fond memories, best of which was the last time you came out to the house to have dinner with Hat, pork chops and rice a roni (his favorites) and how much you enjoyed each other's company, especially talking about the old times, and Motown music! Uncle Leroy have known me since I believe the age of 7 or 8. Always pleasant.  I don't ever recall seeing him angry.  We spent many nights at Uncle Leroy and Aunt Evelyn's house in the Bronx (section called Throggs Neck).  Many good memories.  May G'd bless the Lance family with strength and guidance. Uncle Leroy was so much fun to be around.He taught be how to cook bacon when I was young. It had to be straight and flat or he didn't want it. I still do it that way now.He would pick me up and drive me home anytime I wanted to come to the Bronx and we have our long talks on the way.I love him and Sis so much. They help me grow up.

Although I have met him a few times in this life, I found Mr. Lance to be a quite but loving man. I appreciate him being a father figure to my sister Fatima, whom he and the lady I had known as "Mrs. Lance", at the time had adopted. Great Blessings to the Family!

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.

Although my heart is sad, I am rejoicing that you are with the Lord.  All pain gone now.  Rest in peace daddy.  I love you and I miss you.
