Born on November 7, 1948, to Lloyd Johnsen and Elizabeth Atanasu in Aberdeen, South Dakota, Rose lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to others.
Rose's career was diverse and impactful. She worked as a massage therapist and Reiki master, providing healing and comfort to many. She was a dedicated member of AA and sponsored many on their road to sobriety. Earlier in her career, she was employed at Riviera Kitchens and Western Forge, where she made lasting friendships and contributions.
In addition to her professional life, Rose had a deep love for animals. She volunteered at animal rescues and adopted several dogs from there, including Gracie and Betty, who have passed away. She is survived by her little dog Shaquille.
Rose's infectious laugh, love of music, and passion for singing brought joy to everyone around her.
Rose was the loving mother of four children: James Hill, Tonya Wright (Calvin), Tina Phillips (Jason), and David Hill (Felicia). She was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, leaving behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory.
Rose was one of 12 siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Johnsen and Elizabeth Baldwin; her sisters Flora and Debbie; and her half-sister Jenny.
Rose's legacy of kindness, strength, and compassion will be remembered by all who knew her. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace and reunited with her loved ones who passed before her.
A funeral service will be held on August 18th at 1 pm at Pikes Peak Biker Church, 1318 N Circle Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80909. A potluck will follow the service.
