Judith (Judy) was born May 19th, 1940 to Robert and Mary (Kembel) Loos in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. After graduating from Scottsbluff High School in 1958, Judy moved to Colorado where she met Laurence A. Johnson. They were married on October 22nd, 1966 in Parker, Colorado. They raised two wonderful children Loren (Karen) Johnson and Dana (Gary) Kruse in Parker. In 1983 they moved to Cheraw, Colorado where they farmed and ranched. Judy retired from the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center where she worked as a medical transcriptionist.
After retirement she moved to Colorado Springs so she could be closer to her grandson, Justin Kruse. She truly enjoyed watching him grow and participate in various sports and activities.
Judy enjoyed knitting, skiing, reading and cooking. In addition, she enjoyed attending and singing in the choir at Good Shepard United Methodist Church. She was also a loyal and dedicated member of the Cheraw United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Hilltop Social Club, Willing Workers, Red Hatters, and the Harmonizers singing group.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents (Robert and Mary Loos), her husband (Laurence Johnson), sister (Marty Barlow), and brother (Robert Loos).
Judy is survived by her son Loren (Karen) Johnson; her daughter Dana (Gary) Kruse; her grandson Justin Kruse; Sisters Donna Oyler of Greeley, Colorado and Karon Hatler of La Ventana, Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be Friday, January 27th at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church (viewing at 9:30 a.m.).
Reception will follow. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. January 27th at J.S. Parker Cemetery in Parker, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Cheraw Methodist Church in her memory.
