John O'Rourke

John J. O’Rourke began his existence in Heaven on Monday, June 17, 2013.

He was born December 22, 1920 in Dubuque, Iowa. Pat was adopted and raised

by his grandparents John P. O’Rourke and Louse Mary Gayne.

On March 29, 1940 he was married to his beloved wife Mary T. Lee, who

preceded him in death.

Pat is survived by his four children and their spouses, Gary (Sally) O’Rourke,

Glenda (Michael deceased) Schneider, Dennis (Gail) O’Rourke, Patti Taylor.

He had nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by grandson Lonnie Max Stafford, granddaughter

Kelly O’Rourke, grandson in law Rick Thomas, great-grandson Dakota Nanny.

He served in the Marine Corp during World War II and organized the East

Dubuque Drum and Bugle Corps.

Pat loved his family and church and was a long time resident of Security, CO.

He loved singing and playing the guitar and performed with the Son’s of the Pioneers.

He also loved hunting and fishing. He was loved by family and many friends and

will be missed dearly.

Visitation will be held on Sunday June, 23 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Dove-Witt Family

Mortuary 6630 S. U. S. Hwy 85/87. Funeral service will be held on Monday June 24,

2013 at 11:00 am at St. Dominic Catholic Church with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
