Henry "Cap" Proal of Security, Colorado found his peace in passing on June 9th, 2015. He was a loving, genuine and generous husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Cap was born on September 16, 1923 in Franklin, Massachusetts, 30 miles south of Boston, to Ida Mae Campbell and George Ulmer Proal. He enlisted in the Aviation Cadets in 1942, to train to be a P-38 Fighter Pilot and served as a gunner on a B-29 until he was honorably discharged in 1946. The fall of that year he married his beloved wife of 69 years, Betty Ann Pokorney of Nebraska. He experienced a long and successful career in real estate. He was very involved in his community. He served as Chairman of the Board for the Security Water and Sanitation Districts from 1995 until 2012 and sat on the Special District Association Board of Directors as well as the Fountain Valley Authority Board of Directors. He was also the President of the El Paso County Roads Commission. He was a true philanthropist and contributed too many local and national charities. He was a 32 Degree Mason and a Direct descendent of John Quincy Adams. He was an active member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church and enjoyed many years supporting the Republican Party. He was an avid golfer and a diehard Boston Red Socks fan. He is survived by his wife Betty Ann Proal, his three children, Cynthia Wasinger, Douglas Proal and Pamela Jones, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one sister Carol Rattie. He will be lovingly remembered by countless. Services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 1201 Leta Dr., Security, CO 80911 at 12:00 PM with Reception to follow in Cooper Hall.
