Diane Martinez (Duran) was born August 25, 1960 in Glenwood Springs, CO to Onesimo and Elsie Duran. Diane was the baby of six. After graduating high school in 1978, Diane moved to Colorado Springs, CO earning her cosmetology license and soon after met her husband, Daniel Martinez. They were married in 1983. Together, they built their beautiful life raising two children, Danielle and Nicholas.
Later in Diane’s adulthood, she went back to school and earned her Bachelor's degree in Organizational Management from Colorado Christian University, graduating in 2006 with magna cum laude honors. Together, Diane and Daniel built their fireplace business from the ground up which allowed them to achieve their dream of working for themselves.
Diane’s favorite thing was to be with her family, which included her four grandchildren, most often laughing around the dinner table or watching the Denver Broncos.
Although Diane faced many obstacles in life, her strength and tenacity knew no bounds. Her influence and courage spread far throughout the years, touching many people's lives in ways Diane never knew.
Diane is survived by her husband Daniel Martinez, daughter Danielle Howe (Chris), son Nicholas Martinez (Audrianna), four grandchildren, Lilah Howe, Jaxon Howe, Ezra Howe, and Zoe Martinez, her five siblings, Shirley Peterson (Dan), Ray Duran, Frank Duran, Lorraine Salazar, and Barbara Duran, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Diane Martinez is preceded in passing by her parents, Onesimo and Elsie Duran.
Services will be held December 29th, 2024 at 3 pm. Springs Church, 1515 Auto Mall Loop, Colorado Springs, CO 80920.
