Born to James and Oma Romjue Hollyman in Atlanta, Missouri on October 25, 1928, Wanda was a graduate of LaPlata High and went on to receive a secretarial degree. She accomplished many great things during her lifetime, but her greatest accomplishment was her family. On January 18, 1954, she married the love of her life, Allan Cook. As a mother, she was always present for their two children, Larry and Beth. Prior to having a family, Wanda worked at the FBI. She later worked in retail sales.
She and Allan joined the First United Methodist Church in 1956, and was a member for 65 years. She diligently served with the Meals on Wheels food program, and the First Street Mission Ministries. In her free time she loved gardening, jigsaw puzzles, Dominoes, and playing multiple card games, especially Hand and Foot. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandkids. She will forever be remembered a loving wife, mother, grandmother, servant, and friend.
Wanda is preceded in death by her husband Allan, of 41 years; her sister Galena and husband Ronald Shoush. Wanda is survived by her son Larry Cook and wife Linda, daughter Beth Caudill and husband Barry, grandchildren Lewis Cook and wife Brittaney, Laura Milholland, Andrew Caudill, and Ryan Caudill.
A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth, Texas.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Wanda’s name to the First Street Methodist Mission, 801 W 1st St, Fort Worth, TX 76102.
