Vickie Ann Taylor Johnson
Born Vickie Ann Taylor on January 28, 1952 to Maggie Ann Taylor and Louis Minniefield in Fort Worth TX. She was the youngest of three children. Vickie received her education in Fort Worth as a graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School class of 1970. She continued her education and earned her degree at Tarrant County College.
She met and married Hershel Johnson and out of their union they had three wonderful children. Vickie accepted Christ after uniting with the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, where she was co-founder of the children's choir named the C.C. Choraliers. She later united with First Saint John Cathedral under the leadership of Bishop Kenneth B Spears, where she remained a faithful member for over 25 years.
She started her career at First National Bank downtown Fort Worth in 1971 as a bank processor. A career advancement opportunity led Vickie to Southwestern Bell in 1985 where she remained until her retirement in 2007. During her employment and thereafter she remained a faithful member of CWA Local 6201 Union.
On Saturday June 5th 2021 Vickie Ann Johnson transition from earth to glory. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Maggie and Louis; her big sister Gwendolyn Jeffrey.
Vickie leaves to cherish her memories; Her children, Shannen Johnson-Boone (Darryl), Deanzala “Dee” Johnson, Darell Johnson and granddaughter Abriyel Johnson she raised; brothers Danny Taylor, Louis Mnniefield, Jr. and Gary Minnifield; sister, Theresia Johnson-West and bonus sister Judy Williams; eight grandchildren, Brishae Johnson, Demondre’ Johnson, Deaven Boone, Kaelee Johnson, Tarell Johnson, Taylor Johnson and Kyntrell Johnson; 3 great grandchildren; Braylen Johnson, Katelyn Johnson and Kambree Bethany and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special friends; Carolyn Green, Kay Thirlkill, Diane Evans, Mary Chambers, Georgia Thomas, Sylvia Green, Lady Session Chance, Sandra Bush; long time special neighbors Louise Blake and family and AnnetteJohnson and family.
