The sunrise of Tina’s life began on November 9, 1961, at the United States Air Force Hospital, Torrejon de Ardoz, Madrid, Spain, where she was born to Mr. Ladell Walker Sr. and Sylvia Walker. The sunset of Tina’s life occurred on December 18, 2015, at Baylor Medical Center of Forth Worth, Texas, ending her journey.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, January 4, 2016 at Destiny Church (3508 Blue Springs Dr. Fort Worth, Tx 76123). Visitation will be open from 6pm to 8pm Sunday, January 2016 at Laurel Land Funeral Home (7100 Crowley Rd. Fort Worth, Tx 76134).
She began her educational journey in Topeka, KS and she graduated from Arlington Heights High School in1979 in Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated from Columbia College in general studies with an emphasis on psychology, with additionally studies at the Community College of the Air Force.
Tina's work career spanned over 29 years in the federal government as a Warranted Contracting Officer for the Department of Justice and a decorated Veteran of the United States Armed Forces with 19 years of honorable service. She served as an Active Military Reservist for United States Air Force, 301st Fighter Wing; 73rd Aerial Port Squadron at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base and received recognition for her extraordinary service around the world while in support of the Global War on Terrorism (i.e. Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom II, and Operation New Dawn).
Tina confessed her faith in Christ at a young age & was an active member of Destiny Church of Fort Worth, Texas under the pastorate of Pastor James Womack. She faithfully served as a Leader/Coordinator for the church Usher Ministry; she served hot meals to the Union Gospel Mission, and completed housing projects within the metroplex with the Habitat for Humanity's Project; completing housing projects within the metroplex.
Tina devoted countless volunteer hours serving local military sponsored events such as Carry the Load, The Wounded and Fallen Warriors Project, Snowball Express, Recognition Ceremony Escort for Women Aviator Service Pilots (WASP), Winter Clothing Drive for Deployed Service Men & Women, DEFY, and many more.
She was preceded in death by her father Ladell, and brothers Ladell Jr. and Robert.
She is survived by her daughter Azalea, mother Sylvia, brother Kim, sister Barbara, nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
