Visitation and Services will be held at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Home, Fort Worth, Texas. Visitation is October 10, 2022, 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held October 11, 2022 at 10 a.m. Shawn’s brother, Kai Eilert, will be officiating. Burial will follow at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery.
Shawn was born in Farmington, New Mexico to Karen Landers and Larry W. Raleigh on December 4, 1980. He attended Bowie High School, Arlington, Texas, after which he joined the United States Coast Guard in 2002 as a Coxswain and Boarding Officer. On June 21, 2013, he married Lucy Lynn Capps in Fort Worth, TX. After leaving the Coast Guard, he worked for O'Reilly Auto Parts, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, N.A., and Waxahachie AutoPlex. His final job before his death was a Family Service Counselor with Shannon Rose Funeral Home and Cemetery, Fort Worth Texas.
He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, Transportation and achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer, Third Class and was honorably discharged in 2004. As a salesman of Waxahachie AutoPlex, he received The Ford Company Excellence in Sales and Customer Service four years in a row. He also received the Ford Company’s President’s Award for Sales and Customer Service which was limited to five percent in the nation. He was an active volunteer baseball coach for both of his sons teams, and participated in numerous Hobie Kayak fishing competitions. Shawn always assisted others by sharing his knowledge in the sport of fishing, hunting and his love of firearms.
Shawn is preceded in death by his dad, Larry W. Raleigh; his grandparents, LaDella and P.V. Raleigh and Billie and Johnnie C. Landers, Jr.; his uncle, Ronnie Raleigh; and father-in-law, Larry L. Capps.
Shawn is survived by his wife of nine years, Lucy Raleigh; sons, Jaxson and Brantley Raleigh; parents Derk and Karen Eilert; sister, Michelle Catherwood (Robb); brothers, Larry W. Raleigh Jr., Cody Raleigh, and Kai Eilert (Annett); mother-in-law, Lynn Capps; aunts, uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Tyler Ray, Nathan Johnson, Josh Rose, Jake Howard, CJ Heflin, Josh Lewis, Chris Godwin, and Chris Griffith.
