Ruth was born April 3, 1929, to the late James Conrad Berry and Maude Lorena Price Berry in Fort Worth, TX. She was the youngest of two children and was preceded in death by her sister, Maxine Berry Thompson. Ruth was educated at Mansfield High School in Mansfield, TX, and Brantley Draughon Business School in Fort Worth, TX.
Ruth married the late Billy James Butler on July 8, 1950, and three children were born from this union. The family moved to Sweetwater, TX in 1961 and she joined Trinity Baptist Church. Ruth served as the church secretary for many years and pianist, always enjoying helping others. After moving to Euless, TX Ruth joined First Baptist Church where she made many lasting relationships and friends.
Ruth loved reading and studying the bible, praying for and with others, spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.”
Ruth is preceded in death by both her Father and Mother, Conard and Maude Berry, husband, Bill Butler, and son, Ross Butler.
Ruth is survived by two of her children, Mark Butler and wife, Anne Marconi of Saranac Lake, NY, Dee Gresham and husband, Carl of Rowlett, TX, two grandchildren, Katie Gresham Darnell and husband, Manuel of Rhome, TX, Matt Gresham and wife, Gloria of Fate, TX, and four great-grandchildren.
