Ruby Inez Riggins Williams was born to two loving parents, Howard and Ester Riggins in Cameron, Texas on March 15, 1928. Ruby was raised in Cameron, Texas, where she attended public school. She later settled in Fort Worth, Texas. Ruby met George L. Williams and they married on March 19, 1951 and to this union 12 children were born. Ruby was a faithful wife and mother to her husband and children.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, George L. Williams; 2 sons, George L. Williams, Jr. and
Edward H. Williams; 2 daughters, Paula E. Williams and Lorenza M. Williams; her parents, Howard and Ester Riggins; 3 brothers, Howard Riggins, Jr., Charles Devine Williams and Jerry Riggins; 9 sisters, Minnie Mae Riggins, Johnnie M. Pinchback, Martha L. Duffie, Florence Mitchell, Stella Williams, Jessie L. Freeman, Francis R. May, Evelyn B. Riggins, Earnestine Riggins Clifton and 2 grandsons, James Charles Williams and Kevin Jones.
She leaves 7 daughters to cherish her memories; Ruby W. Warner, Paretta W. Santos, Lillian F. McGrady, Ettie F. Akpom, Norma L. Williams, Denise Williams, and Delores W. Vining; one son, Sellie Louis Williams; 1 stepson, Jessie Smith; 3 special daughters, Pamela Swayzer, Arletha Jones and Renee Brumfield; 1 sister, Mary Lee Crawford and 117 grandchildren and great grand children.
Ruby Inez Riggins Williams dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Sweet Home Baptist Church in Forth Worth, Texas until the Lord called her home on Saturday November 3, 2018. She loved the Lord! She retired from Winn- Dixie Warehouse where she was a machine operator for over 25 years. She was always there to look out for her parents and siblings. She loved and cherished her nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was funny and lighthearted; known by all for her witty sense of humor. She was one of a kind. During her illness she exemplified remarkable strength and courage. She never wavered. She was known to all as "DollBaby" or simply "Doll". She's fed, loved and nurtured many in the neighborhood. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by many.
