Ron was born in Riverhead, New York on March 9, 1954, to Chester Allen Sr. and Arlene Moore. He graduated with honors from Riverhead High School in 1972, where he was recognized as a stellar athlete in the 400-meter and was awarded a college scholarship. In 1974, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served seven years actively before receiving an Honorable Discharge. He later excelled as a Civil Engineer at Carswell Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NAS JRB), leading the Public Works department. He retired after 41 years of combined service to the US Military and Department of Defense.
Due to his exceptional leadership SMSgt. Ronald D. Allen Sr. received "The Build-Fight-Win" plaque in 2015, from the 301st Civil Engineering Squadron, Utilities Section. The difference between a boss and a leader; a boss says "Go!" - A Leader says, "Let's Go!". The conclusion of his working years was with the City of Fort Worth as Facilities Superintendent, retiring in 2020.
While in the military, Ron met and married Alice Wilson from Fort Worth, Texas. Adding to this Blessed Union were three sons- Ronald, Jr., Reginald, and Ryland.
Ron was a force of nature; he was a model husband proving nothing was too good for his family. His love for all three of his boys caused him to coach, support and expose them to the true definition of a man. As a world traveler, he loved his family by his side. Ron never met a stranger. He was full of life and his smile and special humor often lit up the room. Ron lived his life working hard and loving his family. Anyone who knew Ron knew that he was the most loving husband, father, and grandfather a family could ask for. He was devoted to Christ, and was a member of St. James AME Church in Fort Worth, TX.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents Chester Allen and Arlene Moore Allen, a brother Chester Allen Jr., and beloved son Ronald Allen Jr.
Left to cherish his memories, the love of his life Alice Allen, his sons Reginald Allen (LaChelle) and Ryland Allen (Jasmine). Grandchildren: Darrion, Raven, Olivia, Oscea, Mason, Ivy, Rhyan, Miles, and Great-Grandson, Jayden Allen. Siblings: Curtis Allen (Nicole) of Fort Worth, Texas, Darlene Seymore (Herman) of Coram, New York, Dwayne Allen of Riverhead, New York, Brenda Allen of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Faye Allen of Lanham, Maryland, and Debroah Allen-La Salle (Kevin) of Accokeek, Maryland. Military brother David Miller, and host of family and friends.
