Roger was born March 2,1946 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Robert V. and Goldie (Willey) DeWeese. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1965 and served in the Army from 1965-1967. In 1984, he moved to Ft. Worth, Texas, where he worked as a seafood merchandiser with Albertsons for over 10 years.
He loved fishing, the outdoors, watching football, and attending his grandchildren’s school events. He was a social, active man who was involved in his church for most of his life.
He was preceded in death by both parents; five brothers, Bill, Jerry, Rex, Gene and Jack DeWeese; and one sister, Joan (DeWeese) Johnson.
Roger is survived by his wife, Pamela, of 57 years; his son, Roger DeWeese, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Amy DeWeese, of Keller, Texas; his daughter, Shelley Hawkins; son-in-law, Garrett Hawkins, of Keller, Texas; six grandchildren, Matt DeWeese and his wife, Emily, Josh DeWeese, Zach DeWeese, Andrew DeWeese, Blake Hawkins, Kenzi Hawkins; and one sister, Katheryn Ziegler.
