Roberto Cesar Rodriguez was born on May 20th, 1983 to Maria Elena Lara Wong and Ricardo E. Rodriguez in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended Sycamore Elementary, H.F. Stevens middle school and Crowley High School in 2002. A 2008 graduate of ITT Technical College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Communications Engineering, he was an employee of National Cash Register Corporation.
Roberto was very respectful and a true gentleman. We could always count on Roberto to be there when we needed him. Even as children, when one of his sisters were upset he knew how to make them laugh and forget their worries. We will miss our yearly family traditions with Roberto such as watching Christmas movies until midnight waiting to open presents, Thanksgiving get together, family reunions, cookouts and birthday outings.
Roberto was always calm and collected. So, when he got upset we all knew it was something serious. In his own way, Roberto was always so organized, he was methodical with his collections and instantly knew when something had been moved. Even when doing yearly cleaning, as much as he cherished his original Star Wars figures, we would find cards and other things we had given him in a special location.
Roberto was a loving husband to Sable Cantu Rodriguez. Roberto truly found his soulmate with Sable. Once Jessica and Dania grew out of gaming he moved onto Sables siblings and continued his love for gaming with them. Sable’s brothers loved Roberto’s fists pumps and Sonia loved his hugs. They loved going to the movies, gaming, going to Six Flags and spending time with family. Roberto was Sable’s rock, He made her feel like she could do anything. He encouraged her to continue her education just as Sable did for him. He expressed his love to her every day and never once disrespected her. He was accepted as a son by his in laws Juan and Tina Villanueva as well as a brother by his brothers and sister in laws.
Roberto loved building cars and having discussions about almost anything with his dad. When his dad spoke, he listened. A dedicated and loyal son, if his parents needed anything Roberto never hesitated to tell them “yes”; and, he was a protective and loving brother. He cherished everything gifted to him by his mom, and refused to let anyone convince him to part with those gifts. He fell in love with his first teacher who taught him how to read, write, and speak--his mother.
Roberto had a passion for classic cars, Marvel, DC and Star War movies, building model cars, reading, gaming and history. He was loved by his family and friends; and, always met everyone with his big friendly smile. His distinctive and contagious laugh brought joy and happiness to all those who knew him. He loved interacting with his sisters, uncles, aunts, cousins, his brother and sister in-laws, and his pets. Roberto was known as a compassionate and caring person to friends and strangers alike. He was known to never pass-up, chocolate chip cookies, chorizo and plain cheese cake.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cesar Armando Lara Velazco, Francisco Ramon Rodriguez Compean, Enriqueta Rodriguez, uncle Roberto E. Rodriguez
Roberto was survived by his parents Maria Elena Lara Wong and Ricardo Escobedo Rodriguez, wife Sable Cantu, grandmother Amabely Wong, siblings Jessica Celene Rodriguez and Dania Angelica Rodriguez, uncles Frank Rodriguez, Carlos Armando Lara, aunts Martha Leticia Lara Wong, Patricia Rodriguez, Andrea Monreal, Imelda Rodriguez and numerous cousins, uncles and aunts.
