The Life of Peggy Ann “Sunshine” Black
Peggy’s life story began on January 28, 1953 in Karnack, Texas. Her mother Louvenia was excited upon her arrival.
Peggy was educated in the Karnack School District and graduated from Carver High School.
Peggy accepted Christ at an early age at Antioch Baptist Church in Karnack, and later became a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
Peggy later in life started a Home Daycare, which was one of her passions, and she cared for many children during this season of her life. Peggy also had a passion to cook, and everyone look forward to eating at her home even if it was just a family gathering or a holiday.
On Tuesday December 12, 2023, Peggy heard the Master’s Voice and surrendered at 7:20 p.m. surrounded by her family who she loved and cherished.

Those left to cherish Peggy’s memories her daughter; Shonda B. McCauley (Robert) sister’s Geraldine Allen, Glenda Thomas (Robert), Cathy Everitt, Carolyn Lovely, and Jackie Black (Horace), brothers; Willie Black (Verna), Curtis Black (Lillian), Charlie McCray, Harold Black (Mary) James Black (Linda); granddaughters; Bobbi and Zoe McCauley, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and family who will truly miss her.
