Paul Max Ellis, known affectionately as Max, passed away on June 29, 2024, in Fort Worth, TX, at the age of 78. Born on July 6, 1945, in Detroit, MI, Max spent his formative years in the city before dedicating four years of service to the United States Air Force. His commitment to his country was a significant chapter in his life, reflecting his dedication and patriotism.
Max's life was marked by a variety of interests that showcased his vibrant and spirited personality. He was an avid participant in homing pigeon racing, a unique hobby that demonstrated his love for birds and the joy he found in their training and racing. He also served as an umpire, a role that highlighted his love for baseball and his commitment to fairness and sportsmanship. Additionally, Max was known for his passion for dancing, an activity that kept him youthful at heart and connected him with friends and loved ones on countless joyful occasions.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine and Pete, and his brother, Charles. His legacy continues through his family, who cherish his memory: his sisters, Heide and Sandra (Ron); his brother, Timothy (Dot); his daughters, Kimberly (Gregg), Tanja (Sam) and Maurena; his grandchildren, Andy (Kaycee), Stephen, Aidan, Areana, Jude, Riot and Arya; and his great-granddaughters Emma and Isabelle.
Max's life was a testament to his vibrant spirit, dedication to his family, and service to his country. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for Paul will be held Friday, July 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134. A committal service will occur Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134.
