Minister Patricia Holmes
Patricia Holmes, was born December 9, 1950, in Summerville, South Carolina. Her parents, the late Charles Holmes and Annie Nolan had a total of 13 children. Patricia and her siblings were raised in a Christian-faith home.
In search of a better life, Patricia’s family moved to New York when she was a child and she spent most of her life there. Patricia and her siblings attended Keystone Church of God in Christ under the late shepherd’s, Elder Charles and Annie Stanback. It was at the age of 13 that Patricia Holmes received the Holy Ghost.
As Patricia grew in the knowledge of the Lord, her faith grew as well. During her 17 years of faithful service to the Kingdom Family Ministry church in Roosevelt, NY, under the leadership of Bishop Fabian E. Williams, Patricia was ordained as a minister. Minister Holmes attended community college and completed a variety of coursework while attending seminary school.
Minister Holmes later transitioned to Endtime Ministry under the leadership of Bishop Al Henry Sr. before moving to Dallas, Texas. Upon moving to Dallas, Minister Holmes was looking for a church home in Fort Worth. During her search, she served as a Chaplain every Sunday at Park View Nursing Home and enjoyed ministering to people and serving the Lord. Minister Holmes eventually found what she was looking for at Greater Love Chapel Church of God in Christ, under the watch-care of Pastor, Bishop Jimmy Glenn Sr. and First Lady, Sylvia Glenn. After being under their watch-care for over a year and serving the church through different outreach ministries, she took a leap of faith and became an official member at Greater Love Church of God in Christ in the year of 2024. During this time, she served in the Nursing unit, Women’s ministry, and Mother’s Board.
Outside of the church, Minister Holmes worked in the stock market for over 28 years. She retired as an operational specialist at Wachovia Financial. Minister Holmes was also a certified Practitioner Nursing Assistance and Home Health aide.
Minister Patricia Holmes was blessed with her one and only wonderful daughter, Brittany Holmes, whom she was very proud of, as she was the first one in the family to receive her doctorate degree in education. Minister Holmes was at every event, every accomplishment, and every milestone for her daughter whom she loved dearly. Minister Holmes loved her family and friends, and spent countless memories with her nieces, nephews, and her great-grand nieces and nephews. She is survived by her baby sister, Barbara Gilzean, whom she loved dearly. The two were considered the best of friends. Anyone who knew Patricia Holmes, would say she was a friend, prayer warrior, intercessor, woman of faith, and compassionate soul. She was a selfless woman who wore her heart on her sleeve and loved to serve.
Minister Patricia Holmes lived by this scripture verse: “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Psalm 91:2.
