Pam Stevens passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at the age of 65. Her passing took place at her home in Crowley, Texas after a 9 month battle with cancer. Pam left here as she lived, with grace, courage, and dignity. She was diagnosed with a extremely rare cancer 11 days after her retiring on April 1. Pam always maintained the attitude of “I’m going to beat this!” and lived as though she would. Every day was cheerful, loving, and full of life.
Born May 20, 1957, to Herb and Ruby Otto, Pam had a way of touching others that knew her by listening, helping, or guiding people to where they needed to be, inside and outside of her work life.
Pam graduated with a bachelors in Business from The University of Texas at Arlington. She retired from Children’s Medical Center in Dallas after her last 4 years in her Career as a Patient Access Director. Prior to that, she served 27 years in the same position at Cook Children’s in Fort Worth. Pam’s life was not of recognition or promotion, but of getting the job done right, serving both the customer (patient family) and the company. Pam noted on many occasion and to her management that “She worked for a higher power” and that is how she approached every task.
Pam did not take a lot of time for hobbies. She like cooking, fishing, a little traveling but loved her dogs, mostly Beagles and grew to have a love for Donkeys. Wanting to own one. Those that knew her also knew this. Pam was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister and friend. She always thought of others, never missing birthdays, anniversaries, or occasions needing remembering.
Pam was an active member of Alsbury Baptist Church of Burleson, TX.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Chris Stevens; stepson Jonathon Stevens; parents, Herb and Ruby Otto; sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda & Ted LeCompte, along with nieces, Jennifer, Jessica; grand nephew Parker, grand nieces Ella & Emory.
Pam, you will always be loved, and know that you are accepting God’s next assignment with the same energy and love that you did here:
