She started playing competitive softball at age nine and continued years later. When she retired from softball, she was one of the top fastpitch players in the state. She spent her high school years in Dimmitt, Texas, where she helped her basketball team win the state championship and was named an All-State Player.
Upon graduation from WTU, she taught and coached in the Amarillo ISD. She moved to Fort Worth in the 70's and was employed by the Fort Worth ISD. She was an avid Cowboys, Mavericks, and Rangers fan.
Mickey and her mother loved their many American Eskimo female dogs. The last two to share her love were Daisy and Dixie.
She was an active member of Edgewood Baptist Church.
She is survived by cousins, Dean Fulenwider of Cedar Hill, Texas, Sherry Pugh of Crawford, Texas, Billye Sargent of Kennewick, Washington, and longtime friend Barbara Currie. Additionally, a host of other family and loving friends.
