Mary was born July 20, 1930 to Pruit and Velma Davis in Somervell County, Texas. She was the third and youngest child having two older brothers, Ervin and Oliver. Her family at that time lived outside of Paluxy, TX in an area called "Owl Holler". Later the family moved to Cleburne, TX. It was there that she met her husband of 64 years, George Winkler.
She and George had 4 sons, Darwan, Gary, Wilson and Max. They have 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 9 great, great grandchildren.
Mary started work at Montgomery Wards in 1965. She ran the catalog toy and paint section at the Wards on 7th street. She retired in 1985. Later in life she joined her DIL and started an Estate Sale business.
She was and avid Genealogist, long before the internet, and gardener. She and George love to go camping, traveling and trips to the Bahamas, Cancun, and Jamaica. They loved the holidays and always decorated and entertained to the family's delight. She was a fantastic cook and always had something sweet made.
She was cared for by her loving family as her health declined. She was able to stay in the home she and George bought in 1955. Momma was our guiding light.
