Martha Parten Frech passed away peacefully at home in Fort Worth on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 94. Born October 4, 1926, she graduated from Northside High School and attended TCU. In 1965, she married the love of her life, Frank Frech, and lived in Arlington, Texas for 35 years. Martha and Frank traveled throughout the world.
Martha’s lifelong career was as an executive secretary for Eaton Corporation, where she retired.
Martha was an active member of numerous organizations and held every office in each over the years at the Fort Worth Women’s Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Red Hat Club, Desk and Derrick, and Eastern Star. Her hobbies included collecting cookbooks, preferring to read the recipes than to cook, although she loved fine restaurants. She travelled to places on 6 continents, cruising the seas and shopping, particularly for shoes. When she found a pair that fit well, she bought a pair in each color.
Martha joined the Miss Texas organization in 1961 and became a Miss Texas chaperone for several years. Martha was loving, generous, kind and always had a smile on her face. She loved family and friends dearly. She will be missed profoundly.
Martha was preceded in death by Frank Frech, Norman West and James Johnson. She is survived by Martha Glenn and husband Joel, Bill West and wife Barbara; 4 grandchildren; Kim Blaies and husband Greg, Deven Barry and husband Colin, Christa Landa and husband Fridel, Cliff West and wife Jennie; 8 grandchildren: Baily Blaies, Greyson Blaies, Carson Barry, Mason Barry, Hanna Landa, Christina Landa, Sophie Landa and Madison West. Nieces and Nephews Toni Lieske and husband Dwayne, David Lieske and wife Jessica, Jeff Lieske and wife Trina, Justin and Holden Lieske, Ashley and Trenton Lieske.
