Lydia “Momo” Torres, 86, went to be with the Lord on April 27th, 2023. Lydia was born on March 4th, 1937, in Waco, Texas to Jesus and Delfina Serrato. Lydia married John L. Torres on July 11th, 1955, and began their 65-year love story of many beautiful blessings, celebrations, Sunday fundays watching her favorite sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. She loved dancing, music, and watching her two sons play the drums in their bands, and anything Elvis Presley.
Lydia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and her heart overflowed with love and care for everyone around her. Her family was her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them and the joy they brought her. During the holidays, she loved to see all her children sing her favorite holiday tunes, which they will continue to do to honor her legacy and carry on the memories of our precious Momo.
Survivors include her six children, daughters Melinda, Patricia husband Manuel Trevino Jr. Sons, John Ruben wife Cathy, Richard wife Margie, Manuel wife Shelly, and Jesse Michael. Brother Paul, Sister Yolanda, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 4 great- great grandchildren, with one on the way, and many nieces, nephews and cousins she loved to talk on the phone to.
Lydia was preceded in death by her “Honey” John L. Torres, her loving parents, brothers Willie, Jesse, sisters, Lola, Emma, Julia.
