Loretta Jane (Holdcraft) DuBois (89) of Haltom City, Texas, passed away March 31, 2024, at Life Care Center of Haltom. Born in Guthrie, Oklahoma on April 23, 1934 to Bertha (Hoag) and Forrest Holdcraft Loretta is remembered by friends and family as a loving wife, mother and friend who was full of grace with a quick wit and a kind heart.
She was a registered nurse and was also an active volunteer in the Haltom City community and with Birdville Baptist Church. She was active in the PTA, was a Cub Scout den mother and a Sunday school teacher. She loved singing in the choir and was a member for 66 years. She was also involved in the NEED and Cares Program. Her work with the Haltom Library Board for more than 40 years was dear to her heart.
She was tireless in her dedication to bettering the lives of all those who knew her.
Loretta showed grace to all through her empathetic manner, her compassionate actions and her ability to listen to each person’s needs and concerns.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband Harry Austin DuBois; her two daughters Darlene DuBois and Dianne White; her mother and father Forrest Sr and Bertha Holdcraft; brothers Forrest, wife Lois and son Butch, Jim and wife Janet, Karl Holdcraft; and her aunt and uncle Charles and Pauline Hoag.
She was the last of her siblings but is survived by her two sons, Donald Allen and wife Susan, Phillip Dean and wife Kenet, four grandchildren Desiree, Marissa, Katie, Gary Ben Green and three great grandchildren Ella, Tegan, and K-Lee. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Judy Holdcraft, and children Scott, children Aubreanna, Sam, and Melody; Mark and wife Nikki, children Julie and Seth; Karen and husband Terrell, children Tenley and Karter. Her cousins include Ann Dohnum; Dale Hoag; Joe Hoag and wife Carla and children Juda and Jerad.
She will be buried alongside her late husband Harry Austin DuBois of 63 years at the Dallas Fort Worth Veteran’s Cemetery on April 16, 2024.
