Lillie Mae Watkins

Lillie was born in beautiful Brenham, Texas. She was the daughter of Henry and Emelia Hermann. She was the sister to Allyne, Reinhold, Bubba, Bernice, Evelyn, Baby, and Freddy. She grew up on a farm, helping with gardening, the animals, and caring for the babies. Life was simple but not easy. Her family means the world to her.

She met our dad Robert “Bob” Watkins on a blind date. He was an Aggie down in College Station. He fell deeply in love with his Beautiful Fraulein and was determined to marry her. His dreams came true April 15, 1954. Mom bravely left all she knew and loved to move to Dallas, Texas for dad’s work. She loved him devotedly until he passed away on August 8, 2013 and loves him still.

On July 2, 1955 she gave birth to Bonnie Watkins followed by Robert Wesley Watkins Jr. March 28, 1957, and Phillip Watkins on February 22, 1958. God gave us the perfect mom, momma. Everyday and night time too… she prayed for us, forgave and forgot, taught by example about faith hope and trust, gave us everything she had, and most importantly loved us unconditionally, then , now and forever.

Phil married Shelly and they gave her some of her favorite things in life Dillon Wesley and Brody Ray her grandsons. She has asked them to carry on and look forward to a bright future. Always, She will be loving and watching over you…

Bobby brought Kolten to our family and mom put him into her loving arms and called him grandson. She is watching over you too, forever… she has a special place for her buddy Westen …they share the same heart…and the babies bring her joy…

Momma has so many friends, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great ones too. Her devoted sister in-laws gave her comfort and joy. She loved each one of with a mothers love.

Momma loved Jesus without end. She told us when Jesus came for her she was going to say yes. The day before she left for heaven Bobby said “ Momma Jesus is going to be so happy to see you!” and she said in the beautiful voice of a child “ I will be so Happy” With her last breathes she whispered Jesus Jesus Jesus...

As we held her and let her go with Jesus and daddy to heaven...

A joyous celebration of her beautifully lived life awaited her...
