Joyce Crews Pratt passed from this life into the hands of her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 24, 2017. She, along with her identical twin sister Jeanette, were born in Palmersville, Tennessee to Vincent Biggs Crews and Lura Duke Crews on July 2, 1927. Joyce was married on August 17, 1949 to her beloved husband Dan. They met in Detroit, Michigan on a blind date and celebrated their 62nd anniversary together prior to Dan’s passing in 2011. Joyce moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1949 where she and Dan were married and resided for the rest of their lives. She was a homemaker for most of her married life, however did spend approximately 15 years working at the Tarrant County Junior College Bookstore. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed many different activities and hobbies over the years, including being a master level bridge player. She was a dedicated servant of her Lord, an avid Bible reader and taught Children’s Sunday School for many years. She and Dan loved to travel, especially with family. Their favorite place to visit was the Hawaiian Islands, a place where she and Dan visited some 10 times. Joyce was a life-long member of the Church of Christ, helping to bring her husband to the Lord in the late 50’s. For her last 10 years she was member of and worshipped at Western Hills Church of Christ in Fort Worth, Texas. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Emmett Pratt, brothers Duke Crews of Dallas, Bill Crews of Detroit Michigan, Wayne Crews of Fort Worth and sister Edith Austin of Detroit Michigan. She is survived by her son, Dan W. Pratt and wife Bev W. Pratt of Fort Worth along with their sons Benjamin D. Pratt and wife Susan of Sugarland and Jonathan D. Pratt and wife Amanda of Fort Worth; her dear twin sister Jeanette Williams of Fort Worth along with nieces and nephews Nancy Motsinger and family of Dallas, Charles Austin and family of Detroit Michigan, Joanie Dollar and family of Granbury, Janet Steen and family of Fort Worth, Larry Crews and family of Detroit Michigan, Kim Crews and Scott Crews both of Fort Worth.
