Jimmie Lewis Steele was born to the parents of Mr. Luther Livingston and Beulah Mae Livingston Pryue on August 2, 1934. He was raised by his uncle George Livingston and aunt Lula Livingston.
Jimmie accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Vernon A.M.E. Church in Trinidad, Texas.
Jimmie attended elementary school and graduated from Trinidad High School in Trinidad, Texas.
Jimmie enlisted in the United States Army from November 2, 1954 until April 1,
1956, after receiving an Honorable discharge. He later moved to Fort Worth, Texas met and married Ruby Elaine Johnson on March 26, 1962 and to this union eight children were born.
Jimmie worked and retired from Chemical Express in 1991 after developing health issues. Jimmie became a devoted and actual member of FGNH Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member of the choir.
Jimmie was a avid sports fan and he was a diehard Dallas Cowboy's fan. He was also part owner of a racecar. He had a love for greyhound dogs.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Beulah Mae Livingston Pryue, Uncle George Livingston, Aunt Lula Livingston, brother Walter Earl Livingston and grandson Johnny Maurice Williams, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 60 years, Ruby Elaine, three daughters, Kim Nauette Atwood (Thomas), Ft. Worth, TX, Deneen Nichelle Johnson (Ricky, Sr), Lancaster, TX, Ebony Nicole Steele, Ft. Worth, TX, Five sons, Marcus Donell Steele, Ft. Worth, TX, Byron Trent Steele, Denver, CO, Jimmy Monshaun Steele, Jason Bernard Steele, Jerrod Termaine Steel, all of Fort Worth, TX, two sisters Annie C. Kelly and Luther Mae Livingston of Dallas, TX 17 grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members.
