Jeanie was born March 26, 1932, in Del Rio to Jack and Myrtle Grimes, the first of four girls. She was raised on a dairy farm but certainly was not a farm girl. Jeanie preferred to stay in the kitchen and cook. Thus she became a wonderful cook and everyone loved her cooking. She graduated from Springtown High School in 1949. She and Ross married at the young age of 18 and 19 in 1950. Jeanie was very friendly, outgoing, and never met a stranger. She touched many lives. She LOVED to talk! They loved to travel and entertain. One of her specialties was wedding and baby showers for family and friends. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. She was a devout Christian and loved the Lord. Jeanie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend. She was an inspiration and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. The family would like to extend deepest thanks and appreciation to the staff at Westmore Senior Living for taking such good care of her the last few months of her life.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Jo Cowart.
