James E. Williams

Dr. James Edward Williams, Sr. the son of the late Roosevelt and Letisha Miller Williams was born in Marion County South Carolina and on February 23, 2020 God told his Son his race had been run and Dr. Williams completed his earthly journey. dr. Williams accepted Christ t an early age as his personal Savior at the Mt. Zion M.M.E. Church where he served faithfully as a youth. He received his formal education in Marion County Public Schools and was highly recognized for his leadership ability. He was chosen by his Supervisors to become bus driver for the district where he transported students to and from school and other activities in and around the community. These were everlasting memories that he dearly cherished. Dr. Williams graduated from South Carolina State in Orangeburg, South Carolina with a major in Agriculture and a minor in Biology. He was Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. While serving his military Commitment at Fort Hood, Texas Dr. Williams was recruited by the Fort Worth Independent School to become a ROTC Drill Team Instructor at Dunbar High School. Here he met and married Ann Davis on August 27th 1965 and to this union 2 sons were born. One son Jeffrey Keith preceded him in death. Dr. Williams thrust for knowledge led him to pursue a Master Degree in Supervision and Administration from Prairie View A & M University of Texas and a Doctor of Philosophy Psychology from Century University. He was the first African American to Command an Army Reserve Company in Fort Worth, Texas and was later promoted to Rank of Captain.

Dr. Williams everlasting Legacy was the Metropolitan Psychotherapy. He provided services for many families and people in all walks of life. His Legacy will live on forever because of the countless contributions he made to present and future generations. Dr. Williams was the kind of man that Kipling spoke of who could walk with Kings and Potentates and never lose touch with the common man. He was often called the Office "Man" because of his strong will power to serve and meet the needs of others. Dr. Williams was a committed member of Rising Star Baptist Church serving in varied ministries of the Church, Deacon, Male Chorus and Men Ministries His most impacting ministry was the Absolute Positive Influence used to make a difference in the Interior and Outer Appearance of the Church. He often asked what does the Church need.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 54 years, Ann Williams; son, James Williams(Michelle) of Killeen, Texas; granddaughter, Alanna; grandsons, Jeffrey, Jordon and Christian; great grand son, Sevin; brother, Lee Chester Williams (Betty); sisters, Christine Gause and Martha Anderson; sister-in-law. Dorothy Williams, Annie Robinson, Addie Guyton, Elzina Davis, Pearlie Mae Davis and a host of other relatives and friends. God son; Reverend Ralph S. Emerson of Impact City Church in Odessa, Texas.; God grandson, Jonas Amos of Great Commission Baptist Church.
