James Boyd Mason, 93, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away September 13, 2018. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on February 4, 1925 in Rendon, Texas to Buelah Vanvleck Mason & William Henry Mason. He had 4 sisters; Ruth, Yvonna, Audry Lee, and Velma. James went to Central High School and was drafted into the United States Army World War II on March 28, 1943 and served till September 30, 1946. He trained in Texas Camp Walters & Camp Barkley as a Combat Medic. He was sent to Europe and served 3rd & 9th Army. He was at Omaha Beach D-Day June 6, 1944, then moved to Northern France for the Battle of The Building. His Rank was a Tech 5 Army of Occupation Germany. He served in England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. James worked at Convair Building B-36 Bombers in the 1950’s 1960-1984 at Continental Bus Systems until he retired in 1984. James was a Mason at Deer Creek #510 in Everman, TX & 33rd Degree Scotich Rite. James was also a member of Military Veterans Organization “Roll Call” in Fort Worth, Texas. When James came back to the states, he married Nella Mae Coach in February of 1947, they were married 57 years. Nella passed in 2004.
James is survived by his son Ken Mason and wife Christy, 3 grand daughters and 7 great grandchildren.
