He was born April 13, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas to James I. and Willie Mae Brown. James was preceded in death by his parents James I. and Willie Mae Brown, sister Bette Gene Konopasek and his half-brother Joe Scott.
James was very proud of his hard work at the furniture factory in Fort Worth, Goodwill Industries and Expanco Inc. He was full of life and loved to joke with his co-workers and the residents at the nursing home. He enjoyed participating in all the activities at the nursing home but none more than playing Bingo or the Bible studies. He was an old soul, who loved to make sure everyone else was having a good day and of course he was very proud of always following the rules.
James is survived by his aunts, Dorothy Hickman and Ruth Warrick, and a nephew, Robert Konopasek along with other family members. Plus, a special friend, Judy Bland and her family who took care of his needs until the end.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am February 22, 2022, at Laurel Land Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas.
We would like to thank the staff at Caraday for their tireless care for the past 12 years. Also, Legend Hospice, Inc. for their loving care at the end of James’ life.
