Helen Ady

Helen Clyde Gee was born in Hollis, OK. April 24, 1933 to Earnest Fain Gee and Gusta Clyde (Lowe) Gee who preceded her in death. Helen went into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on March 2, 2018.

Helen had three brothers: Johnny Jewel Gee, Henry Price Gee, and Emory Fain Gee who preceded her in death. She had two older sisters. Kathryn Gee Peden, Teenie Gee Orr who preceded her in death. Helen has one surviving older sister, Gracie Gee Sain Haddox of Amarillo, TX.

Helen married Gene William Stokesberry in Hollis, OK in 1951. They had three children they loved dearly. They loved going to sons’ football, baseball, basketball games, camping and anything to do with their children and music. They had 27 wonderful years of life together. Gene entered his eternal home in heaven December 19, 1976.

Her surviving children are: Sherri Ann Stokesberry Thomas and husband Mike (deceased) of Seagoville, TX, Larry Gene Stokesberry and wife Deborah Lee of Garland, TX, and Stanley Mark Stokesberry of Fort Worth, TX.

Helen married James Ray Ady in Fort Worth, TX on May 13, 1978. They had 40 years of wonderful life together.

Helen had four grandchildren: Brian Lee Thomas, Kimberly Ann Thomas, Nicole Lee Stokesberry Wiley (husband David Andrew), and Lucas Gene Stokesberry. Two great grandchildren: David Andrew Wiley, Kate Elizabeth Wiley. Two stepchildren: Danny Ray Ady and wife, and Diane Marie Ady and husband, and seven step grandchildren.

Helen had 18 nieces, 8 nephews, and numerous great grand nieces and nephews.

Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also and he praises her. Proverbs 31:28.

Helen was loved by all and never met a stranger. Family reunions were well attended as you can imagine, with great food from aunts, and frog legs and fish fries from uncles. No one went away hungry. Campouts were the GREATEST! Holidays together with children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, were happy times filled with love. Mom especially loved backyard barbeques with Ray and all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, and her many friends. She greatly loved playing water volleyball with all her loved ones. Mom had such a great love for music and was very devoted to singing in her church choirs.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 24, 1918, at 2:00 P.M. at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel with Pastor Clint Benn officiating. Food will be served by the wonderful people of Arlington First Church of the
