Gregory Bailey Abernathy

He is survived by his mother (Mary Helen) and father (Bill), wife (Anna), daughter (Stephani) and Son (Sean) and his 2 grandchildren as well as 2 step grandchildren.

Greg was a devoted and driven man. He always did everything he could to provide for his family, while being everyone’s rock. He took pride in everything he did. He loved extremely hard and always wanted the best for everyone. He had a great sense of humor, and always made people laugh even in the darkest times.

He was born in Fort Worth on September 29th 1961. He graduated from Southwest High School. He attended the University of Texas at Arlington to be an architect, shortly before starting his long career at the Fort Worth Police Department. He did 5 years on the streets in south side Fort Worth before ultimately finishing out his 30 year career in Air One as a Tactical Flight Officer.

Greg poured love into everyone he met. Many people have shared the impact he made on them and that is a true testament to who he really was. He was a loving friend and father, an incredible husband, and an amazing grandfather. He will be sorely missed.

His funeral will be on Wednesday November 23 at 2:00pm at Laurel Land in Fort Worth. Please join us in celebrating the life of Greg Abernathy.
