Frances Ann Wilson

Fran Wilson entered into God’s kingdom on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. Fran was born on August 25, 1945 in Laurel, Mississippi. Fran was born to Franklin Maurice and Bertie Maurice Dawkins. Fran graduated from Monahan’s High School in 1963.

Fran married John Ed on August 21, 1965. The two would share a life filled with love for 59 years. Fran served for 21 years as administrator at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She also served as an administrator for 13 years at B.H. Carroll Theological Institute.

Fran served in the Deacon Ministry at Gambrell Street Baptist Church where her and John Ed were long time members. The two joined Gambrell Street Baptist Church in 1981. Fran also served on the hospitality team at Stevenson Oaks Community.

Fran is preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Bertie Maurice Dawkins.

Fran is survived by: Her husband of 59 years John Ed. Son, Todd and spouse Shelley, Son Tyson, Grandchildren Ben, Ethan, Leeah, Donovon, Naia and Sapphire. Brother, Enoch Dawkins and spouse Frances. Sister, Lu Price and spouse Levi. Long time best friend, Beverly Bristow and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Fran will be held at Gambrell Street Baptist Church on Wednesday, Sept 11 at 10AM.

A reception prior to service 9:15-9:50am at Gambrell Street Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank Fran’s care team, especially her doctors for their care and compassion in her final days.
